About Me

How does one sum up everything that makes you you in one paragraph? I'll try my best to accomplish that, but most likely in more than one paragraph.

I'm Maria! I'm way too artsy for my own good.
I recently moved to Portland, but was born and raised in suburbia New York. But I might as well live in my own world • I attended college in NYC where I majored in illustration • I prefer spring/fall over summer/winter • I eat too many sweet things • I dye and cut my hair way too much • I'm horrible at keeping up with today's tunes; I tend to go backwards listening to a lot of 80s + 90s.
I watch too many movies and television series in my spare time. I've started keeping track of what I watch on Tumblr, mostly for personal use and curiosity. But don't worry, I'm always productive while watching. I practice the skill of multitasking!
I draw, paint, sew, collage, decoupage, make books, make paper, and construct anything I feel the need to create - which in result encourages me to hoard anything and everything possible. I believe in reusing & recycling. Anything can be made into something. Most of my posts consist of what I make, and things that inspire me.

I'm not a fan of taking photos of myself, which is why you won't be seeing much of my face in my blog. I also don't consider myself a photographer, so I won't try to act like one. I love having pictures in my posts though. All of my pictures are either taken with my Canon PowerShot SD750, Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-RX100, or with my phone.

I'd also like to open up an Etsy shop sometime in the near future, but I have a few things I'd like to accomplish and perfect before doing so.
Update: I've opened up a store on Etsy in January 2012, as well as a separate store for my art on Storenvy in January 2014.

I'm fairly new to the blogging world, so bare with me as this blog slowly develops. Finally reached the two year mark! May not be so new to the blogging world anymore, but I still getting the hang of this.

Welcome to my journey!
